Oftentimes, people are hesitant to seek treatment after distressing events because they feel like it wasn't "bad enough" or like they should be able to work through it on their own. They may even compare their experience to someone else's and feel it doesn't measure up. But your life is about YOU –
How are you showing up for your life?
What is the quality of your relationships?
How present you are with the people you love?
How engaged you are in activities that matter to you?
How much do you look forward to tomorrow?
You were never meant to carry it all.
I assist people in identifying and moving through barriers to living their best life, and seek to provide a non-judgmental safe space for sharing and growth. I believe there is great power in the therapist/client relationship, and that people often develop into the best version of themselves once they feel truly seen and heard. Although grief, confusion, and trauma can be part of the human experience, it is my goal to assist people in accessing the freedom and joy that is waiting on the other side. I feel honored to play even small part in someone's healing journey.
I specialize in trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, end of life decisions, chronic illness, and life transitions. Because I am a believer in the mind/body connection, I often utilize Mindfulness techniques in working with clients. Other modalities include EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy.
I am a Behavioral Health Officer in the TN Army National Guard. In my private therapy practice I often work with service members, veterans, law enforcement personnel, and first responders. It is an honor to serve these men and women, as they make daily sacrifices for our community and nation.
